Rockton World Fair

Thanksgiving  weekend  spent Sunday at a rural Ontario  fair.... Rockton World Fair. This small village hosts 100,000 people over the run of the fair.

This rural  fair has been in existance since  1852.In the beginning it was called Beverly Agricultural Society,
There were 181 members and prize money paid to the exhibitor's was $194.50. Compare this to today's volunteer membership of 500 and prize money of $80, 000 paid to over 1200 exhibitors.
The local newspaper in 1878 entitled an article of " The Rockton World's Fair, the name has stuck ever since......This small  fair brings urban and rural together highlighting agriculture and  education of  agriculture..
