Bloomin Tuesday July 12th

July is the month of  a riot of Summer colour.. showing off.
Roses, daylilies and nicotiana    put on quite the display.

Nicotiana is a modest plant but I love it for the evening  fragrance and in the daytime    adds lots of colour.

Many shades of nicotiana make it  interesting.

Daylilies are just starting.. Fragrant Teasures in a lovely soft apricot colour with a lot of perfume.

This spider daylily was  a gift one that I do appreciate unlike my tiger lily. :-) It is unnamed. It certainly is a standout in the garden  , still I think I lean to the  frilly  large  blossoms. Spiders tho unique  do not have the appeal  of the others.
Sweet peas are really starting to produce  flowers and oh the  scent. I  like scent in the garden.........

Hi Rosemary,
I like spider lilies because their blooms are so different...sometimes they are really weird with super skinny petals--I love those.

I like Nicotiana, but I have not grown it for some years now.

I had to chuckle while reading your tiger lily post. I call them "ditch" lilies and I have tons of them. I love them when they are growing in a large wooded space, but I agree that if you have a small garden, you probably want to decline the free offers. LOL. I was just outside taking pictures of mine and will probably post them in the day or so.

Happy Gardening,
Zoey

I love the Nicotiana, need to remember to plant that next year. Keep forgetting for some reason. :)

Rosemary, your garden is starting to show off all it's lovely blooms, too. Do you know someone gave me a tiger lily years ago and I now have way too many of them...wouldn't you know, when I started transplanting them this spring from the bed I'm renovating, I dug up and replanted the same daylily AGAIN to a new bed? Good grief. lol

I love all your flowers, and the nicotiana is something I haven't grown for some time, but sure want to next year.

Hi Rosemary, I do not have many annuls but I do have nicotiana. I like the scent too. Your daylilies are beautiful. I planted sweet peas as well. Mine are well behind yours, as I planted them late. I hope they get a chance to flower before the wild bunny, who has been stalking my vegetable garden, eats them up.

July is a great garden month, isn't it? Your flowers are lovely, but I favor that yellow/maroon daylily myself.

Rosemary,

Your garden looks amazing and I love that nicotiana plant. I have never tried to grow one. Guess I need to do a little research on this plant.

You do have a nice garden...like those sweet peas. I just put up some lattice to hide an ugly area and it will get sweet peas next year.

Love all your plants but especially the last photo with the climbing plants on the old rake. I have an old rake by the garden gate and cannot for the life of me get a clematis to climb up it!
