2 years ago I planted in my new backyard a Fringe Tree. The first year it rewarded me with lovely blossoms in the spring......This year even better; loaded with white fluffy panicles...
Fringe tree is also called Old Mans Beard. It is a refined, elegant beauty .This native of North America is a close relative of the lilacs, when in bloom this plant is best described by words like dainty, delicate and frilly, airy with a light sweet scent., Yesterday with the warm still air the patio was filled with this soft perfume.More of this tree should be planted as it is so tolerant of light and soil and urban conditions .Hardy to zone 5.
Is there a tree in your yard you love?

I've been considering adding one of these for a while now and those blooms are inspiring me to actually do it. Thanks for sharing.
It does have lovely blossoms!
How gorgeous is that??!!!
Very, very nice. And such an appropriate name. I love it!
Gorgeous tree! The blossoms are a nice bonus. :) I love my Crepe Myrtle tree.
Beautiful tree, Rosemary! Such delicate blooms. It must be spectacular in person. Jean
Hi Rosemary,
I just love your Tree. It is so delicate and airy, very pretty. Thanks for sharing and hope you are having a great day!
I love the oak and shagbark hickory trees that were residing here before I moved in. Hands down winners! However, I planted a flowering crab that outblooms itself every Spring and the new Sunburst Honey Locust that has a Bright Green new growth that offers a great contrast to the darker green seen everywhere. :-)
You asked. I wrote. Looks like I can't pinpoint a favorite! ha.
Hi Rosemary. Visiting via Jean's BT. Never heard of this tree, and I don't think I've ever seen one, but it's so unique.
My fave tree in my yard is a beautiful Blue Atlas Cedar planted right by my deck. Love that tree.
Thanks for sharing. Look forward to checking out more of your blog.
