Canadian ,eh!

Last night the Canadian Broadcasting Network started a new series called Battle of the Blades.
Hockey players and figure skaters paired up and skating together......
How could I call myself Canadian if I did not watch 2 of Canada's favourite sports, hockey and figure skating?
Perhaps one has to be Canadian to appreciate and get a smile from this ;
bruising, big, well known hockey stars;Tie Domi,Claude Lemieux, Ken Daneyko Craig Simpson,Bob Probert,Glenn Anderson and Ron Duguay and the very best female figure skaters..Jamie Salé, Shae- Lynn Bourne, Isabelle Brasseur, Barbara Underhill, Marie-France Dubreuil, Christine Hough-Sweeney, Jodeyne Higgins and Kristina Lenko...... skating together in a routine........this show is broadcast from the closed Maple Leaf Gardens, a stroll down memory street for some, Ron McLean broadcaster from Hockey Night in Canada and Kurt Browning Canadian figure skater extraordinaire are the hosts. Sandra Bezic and Dick Button were 2 of the judges, Don Cherry is scheduled to be a judge which knowing him the comments should be hilarious..
This show is based loosely on the hit British show Dancing on Ice ,this show uses Torvill and Dean Olympic Gold winners in figure skating for coaching.
How were the performances last night?
Some very painful to watch, others amazing.Got lots of smiles from the kibitzing between the judges and the skaters...Will be interesting to see how the hockey players improve over the next 8 weeks.Impressed at the female figure skaters trusting these hulks to lift them and twirl them........
Did I vote to keep my favs in ? Yes I did.... My fav's are ; hockey players Ken Daneyko and Ron Duguay, figure skaters, Barb Underhill and Isabelle Brasseur..
Tonight we will see who stays and who goes....
So come on Canada , tune in and watch....enjoy the laughs.
