Green Thumb Sunday, Orchid

I am so pleased to see the first orchid I have ever bought starting to reflower.
It has 7 flower buds on it.
I have been trying to educating myself over the last year on the care of this plant,
Watering, fertilizing, light and disease.
The light in the living room is obviously making this one happy orchid.
Generally use Miracle Gro 15-30-15 on a monthly basis .
Water when the bark is dry letting the water run through several times.
I have not been misted or placed the plant on a pebble water tray.
Did cut back the old flower stock to a node, it is slowly regrowing..
The new flowering branch is from the base of the plant.
This plant was very healthy when purchased and so far I consider this a success.

Next week the not so successful orchid.

Congrats on the reflower. I killed my orchid when I repotted it. Good work!

This is wonderful and I'm in awe! I've had two orchids... the first one stayed green for one whole year (never bloomed) and the other didn't last very long at all. At this time, I have no orchids... maybe I'll try again. ha.
