1st Tole Painting Project

This past fall I joined a Tole Painting group at the clubhouse.
Found a balsa box at the Dollar store. Finished it just before Christmas.

The flower is supposed to be a poinsettia.
This technique of painting is quite different from what I had been doing, previously I had been doing one-stroke. I am now unlearning that skill as Tole is quite a bit lighter in brush loading and stroke.

Overall not unhappy with my first project, just impatient to develop further.

Looks great! I bet it looks even better in real life!

Wow that is amazing! You know, if you can handle this kind of painting I bet you would be superb at digital painting with Corel or Paint Shop Pro and a Wacom tablet. It's actually quite fun and the different brushes act just like real ones. :-)
