It's Strawberry Season!

Strawberry season ! My first berries and strawberry shortcake.

Very fortunate in this part of the country to be close to a wonderful farmers market. Berry-Hill Farm , the fresh fruit and vegetables are of the highest quality. He has just reopened for the season. Purchase strawberries, raspberries, peaches, corn ,tomatoes , green,yellow beans,onions and whatever he has on hand that day. It is such a simple pleasure to zip down the road , drive into the farm where the fruits and vegetables are grown, chat with the vendor re what is ready, how long that particular item is going to be available, take your purchases home , prepare them and enjoy the wonderful flavour of fresh off the farm produce. Unfortunately there is just no comparison to the sad freshness of fruits and vegetables in a large grocery store. Love the convenience of the big stores still the produce does lack.

Next fruit to be ready , Raspberries my favourite fruit, oh and then corn should be ready, then peaches , can't forget blueberries , tomatoes what is nicer than BLT.
