German Plum Cake

Had 3 red plums in the fridge  so needing  to be used up....
Made my version of  a German Plum cake.
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter, soft
2 eggs
1 cup all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Beat sugar and butter til light  and fluffy,  add eggs. Beat well.
Add dry ingredients  , mix ,  add in milk and almond extract.. Mix  together  pour into  9 inch greased pan..
Top with  3  red plums cut in wedges, sprinkle with  1/3 cup  sugar and  1 tsp. cinnamon
Bake  at  375 for  35 to 40 minutes....
This is not the prettiest cake  with the plums sinking into the cake but it makes up for looks in flavour.Added a sprinkle of icing sugar for the  picture and  a plum slice to top.Wasn't going to blog about this cake   but  after tasting decided to share. The cake is  so easy to make  and turned out moist, light,  full of flavour with the   almond extract and cinnamon complimenting each other. Perfect partner for an afternoon cup of tea.
