Fickle Mother Nature! Happy Mothers Day!

Wasn't it just yesterday I was waxing rhapsodical  about the beautiful warm spring weather. .
Today it is cold  and grey and windy.  Only   a high of 8C  today.....Threat of frost   tonight and tomorrow night... Even heard the  4 letter word starting with S  for places  a little north of here.......
Some one tell the female Mother Nature  it is Mothers Day . It should be warm and sunny.
With the  wonderful warm weather of the last  couple of weeks , I even went out and purchased my  annuals. Just itching to  dig in the dirt...

Yes, I know it is a little early..... last frost for this area of SW Ontario  is considered May 24th.
Never have waited until after the long weekend, after all , all the best plants are  picked over...
Well there they sit on the covered porch...  well watered to help  keep the frost at bay..
Waiting for planting , Patiently?
Mother  nature certainly keeps us guessing.
Have to share a wonderful gardener's  gift I received for Mothers Day from  daughter Rosanne,
For this gardening Mom a perfect gift.
a lovely  French lavender Standard in full bloom.
love the delicate  lavender blooms
Now I will have to learn how to take care of it and more importantly  how to over winter it...
Even tho it is cold here wishing all a
Happy Mothers Day ..even  fickle Mother Nature....

I moved my tender annuals into the garage, hadn't got around to planing them yet. The wind is terrific today and it is so chilly. But on the plus side ... at least the sun is out.

Belated Happy Mother's Day Rosemary. I love the lavender standard. What a nice gift!
What a change in the weather, eh? Yesterday was freezing! Supposedly things will warm up tomorrow.
P.S. Be sure to stop over and enter the Loblaw's giveaway. More money to spend on plants! You can never have too many.

Hi Rosemary,

We have quite a bit in common! I too bought a bunch of plants to do pots and they are sitting in front of my garage waiting. After today I think the temps will cooperate. My husband doesn't understand when I tell him the plants will be picked over ... lol.
