Shade garden and more

Last year I started to develop a shade garden in a north east corner  .
It  is just now  coming to   the look I want.....

Starting to fill in
Who remembers the TV show Northern Exposure? Loved that show.
Lady fern,  in corner,  yellow and green Northern Exposure hosta, in front ,Ryan's Big Blue One; both these hostas    get quite large   4 feet wide , accented  with  white flowering sweet woodruff in between , sweet woodruff has lovely  scent....
This corner is very dry  added lots of black mulch.....Chose   thick quilted  leaved  and blue  hostas     in an effort to deter slugs..... will see.....

The Alliums are now in full flower.

The Japanese Tree Peony is in full bloom , 5 blossoms  on this its 3rd season. It is  about  2 feet tall.
I wonder if I will see the 40 or 50 blooms  it is said they eventually   will produce?

Petals  look almost like crepe paper
On Mothers Day received a lovely floral arrangements from my granddaughters...
White mini orchids, green spider mums  , green hypericum berries,  variegated greens and salal leaves.

Thank you Brianne and Brittany!

What a cute arrangement from your grands.

Your corner shade garden is looking very nice. I like the black mulch.

I love alliums, but they don't love growing in my garden. After about three years, they disappear.

Enjoyed your post.

How sweet of your grand daughters to give you flowers on Mother's Day.
Your tree peony is very pretty. 40 to 50 flowers? I had no idea that a peony could ever produced that number of flowers. The shade garden is coming along really nicely.
