Bloomin Tuesday- last week in September

In the garden, Autumn is, indeed the crowning glory of the year, bringing us the fruition of months of thought and care and toil.

And at no season, safe perhaps in Daffodil time, do we get such superb colour effects as from August to November."
- Rose G. Kingsley, The Autumn Garden, 1905
This quote says so much about this wonderful time of the year,,,
weather has been mild,  warm days  , cool nights,  some rain,  just starting to show some  colour ,  white button mums...

small but mightly blooms
The holly bush is heavy  with berries.

Wonder if all the berries mean a  snowy winter?
Mauve asters are in  bloom, a favourite fall flower .

See the bee busy working!

Bees are filling up on nectar.... on the Frosty Morn sedum  as well..

Tho heucheras have been    a plant I struggle with   I could not resist this beauty with its wine   red leaves,  it has red leaves in the spring  taupe in summer  then ruby red in the fall,  best of all  it was on sale........ so apropos called. Autumn Leaves..
white icicle pansies planted beside  and see the mushrooms  on the right
Rose buds, will they open before  a frost?

hope these last few buds open.

And ending with a short quote about Autumn:

Autumn, the year’s last, loveliest smile.

~William Cullen Bryant

The mums are a lovely color, as are the asters, but my favorite is the last shot of the roses. I think mine are already finished for the year.

Lovely quote. I hate to see the end of blooms in the garden. You still have lots of lovely blooms.
