Bloomin Tuesday-July 4th

Zahara Zinna just starting to flower. Bright orange it is.

Fushia   -- always  have in the garden to draw the hummingbirds..

You know when someone offers you a daylily but they don't know the name or the colour or even where or when they got it..and you  can't refuse their generous offer ....

.....  can  some one tell me how to gracefully decline these  kind  offers?.......
I have wasted  2 years waiting   for a  tiny daylily to grow large enough to flower so I could identify it...
It has turned out to be  this giant  common tiger lily..... which in it place is  a lovely flower but not in my limited garden space......where I want daylilies of  longer flowering  periods and more spectacular   colours.
This guy will be moved to a gravel area that is more apropos...

Ha! I know what you mean. I usually decline whenever someone offers iris, that's a lesson I learned a while back.

Rosemary, yes, I do know how it feels to end up with the common ditch lily. I have way too many of them already around here and one time I even bought one that was mislabeled. Love your Zahara zinnia, I'm growing the pink ones this year. I hope they're dependable and resist mildew as advertised. I adore fuschia but have never grown one.

For the variety of flowers you showcase here, I assumed you had a MASSIVE garden.

Miss having Fushias.
I have Tiger lilies that came with the property but gave away most of them. I feel they work well at a distance.

Hi Rosemary, I have these ditch daylilies too. I put up with them for now, but hope to replace them with nicer hybrids. Looks like you had a great Canada Celebration. Your food always looks delicious.

The bright orange zinnia is lovely. I always get a fushia hanging basket for Mother's Day.Jean

Hi Rosemary,

Your zinnia, fushia and daylilies are gorgeous! I don't know where all the hummingbirds are this year. Perhaps at your house.
