Winter Officially Arrives

Winter officially arrives today. Someone should have told Old Man Winter .
We have had winter for the last month...Lots of snow so far..... Wonder what the winter weather will be like for the  rest of the season.......... Was up early , out my window ,just before the dawn  ..
The full moon   lit the night with  silvery light  No, did not stay up for the eclipse..
A light dusting of snow  covering the front step.
Now it is daylight , the sky is bright blue and the  sun shining brightly...making the shortest day of the year  cheery....  The sedum  , blue spruce and  hydrangea have a unique beauty when dusted with snow.......

I can appreciate the beauty  of winter and  a blanket of snow   but  I long for spring.
Already!

oh my gosh, I've been reading your blog, and seeing all these mouth watering treats!
The cookies you showed Sunday look alot like the ones I used to get from Mennonites at craft shows every Christmas. They are my favorite and I haven't been able to get them the last two years, so I'm thinking I need to try this recipe before Christmas, lol! I'm in trouble :-)
try and stay warm, spring will come soon enough

I didn't stay up to watch the eclipse either, but heard that the sky was completely clear in our area. Apparently the view of the eclipse was perfect. I did note that the moon seemed huge in the sky as I was lying in bed trying to wake up in the morning. I hope that you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!

Looking forward already to a January thaw. Just think, yesterday was the shortest day of the year - the days are now getting longer.

Great moon shot, I wanted to see the eclipse but it was cloudy here, couldn't see a thing.
