A Delightful Surprise and Challenge

I received a wonderful surprise in the mail last week.
A large brown package..... inside 5 envelopes filled with seeds..

Shady from Does Everything grow better in My Neighbours Yard Blog knew I was drooling over her Blackberry lilies and kindly offered me some seeds...Lo and behold, Shady sent me not only Blackberry lily but Goldstrum Rudbeckia, Purple Coneflower, Joe Pye Weed and Monarda Jacob Cline seeds.
I am very excited to get these seeds planted
in the garden using Shady's suggestion of adapting milk jugs as mini greenhouses. Do check out her blog for great instructions on this technique.
The challenge she made? To use the 2 gorgeous pictures she sent and make cards , my other love after gardening. The photos, one is a toad lily and the other Illinois bundleweed.
Shady! thank you so much for this special and wonderful surprise.. What terrific friends one finds in the world of blogging.

Thanks for your blog visits!
What a wonderful surprise to receive in the mail. My 86 year old Mom is a great one for sending my letters packed with pictures, newspaper clippings, seeds and more.
I am sure the Blackberry lilies and other perennials will be a great addition to your garden.

Hi Rosemary, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment - I wish I could say last Friday's snowfall was our first of the season, but that's life in Calgary. Look forward to seeing what you do with those lovely photos!
