End of August

End of August of this very hot summer. The heat is back on, temperatures in the mid 30's C. Humidity stifling. Dry , no rain. Watering the gardens on my agenda today.
Certainly no one can complain that this summer hasn't been summer like.
Now that the sunflowers are setting seed the goldfinches are enjoying dining and throwing around seed shells....
The antics of these birds bring a smile , hanging upside down, chattering away, fighting off others looking for a treat.
Thursday the forecasters are predicting rain and cooler temps coming.
Wonder what the Autumn weather will bring? Hopefully a warm sunny fall , a favourite season.

No cooler temps here yet. Summer is lingering a bit longer. I love watching the antics of those charming little Goldfinches in my garden too. I leave the Rudbeckia seed heads up for them to enjoy. ;)

It has been hot, a cool down would be nice...a cold down? not so nice!

We had an incredible summer this year, especially after the last 2 that were total washouts! (I'm in Southern Ontario too).
Aren't goldenfinches the most amusing birds? I have several feeders, which I will keep going through the winter. Your photo reminded me how wonderful it was to watch the birds feed on the sunflowers, next year I will have to grow some.

Thank goodness for a nice hot summer, now I will be looking forward to autumn, which is one of my fave seasons too :-)
