Tis the season, start Christmas baking..The Garden club December meeting tradition is to bring treats .
This year I made Chocolate Oatmeal drops.
This cookie is a family favourite , we have been making this cookie for years.
My sister Donna and I made them regularly as teenagers..can't remember where the recipe came from.
This recipe even made it into the family cookbook.
Daughter Rosanne still makes these cookies and nephew Jason , grown man that he is still loves them.
Best part, it is easy, quick with no baking required. Great cookie for children to learn baking and cooking.
1 cup white sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup milk
3 TBSP. cocoa
Combine these 4 ingredients in a saucepan
and bring to a boil.
Cook for 2-3 minutes.
Add;
1 cup oatmeal
pinch of salt
1 TBSP. vanilla
1 cup coconut
Mix well, drop onto waxed papered cookie sheet. Chill til firm in fridge.
Dressed up with red and green sprinkles and silver dragees and little paper cups.
Next week the baking of family favourites and perhaps a new cookie starts in earnest.

Sounds like something I used to make when I was a teenager and lost the recipe. I am gonna have to try this recipe.
