Japanese Anemone

On this beautiful September day , weather here is warm ,bright and dry, the nicest weather all summer;the best plant in the garden right now is the Japanese anemone.........

These species of anemone are actually native to China, despite their common name of Japanese Anemone. The name anemone comes from the Greek word anemos, meaning wind. After planting, anemones may take a year or two to settle in before they bloom heavily, but their display will improve each year, so mine just planted this fall will hopefully improve into a large clump 2 feet wide and maybe 3 to 4 feet tall..

Hi Rosemary, It may just exceed your expectations - abundantly! ;-) Mine just wants to walk all over! But it's so pretty, I don't mind. I try to share it, and when I can't I've even resorted to (gulp!) pulling some out. (Yipes, I admitted it!) ;-)

I love my Japanese Anemone, it's been blooming for the last few weeks. I like the color on yours.
