Bloomin Tuesday- last week in September
In the garden, Autumn is, indeed the crowning glory of the year, bringing us the fruition of months of thought and care and toil.
And at no season, safe perhaps in Daffodil time, do we get such superb colour effects as from August to November."
- Rose G. Kingsley, The Autumn Garden, 1905
This quote says so much about this wonderful time of the year,,,
weather has been mild, warm days , cool nights, some rain, just starting to show some colour , white button mums...
The holly bush is heavy with berries.
Mauve asters are in bloom, a favourite fall flower .
Bees are filling up on nectar.... on the Frosty Morn sedum as well..
Tho heucheras have been a plant I struggle with I could not resist this beauty with its wine red leaves, it has red leaves in the spring taupe in summer then ruby red in the fall, best of all it was on sale........ so apropos called. Autumn Leaves..
Rose buds, will they open before a frost?
And ending with a short quote about Autumn:
Autumn, the year’s last, loveliest smile.
~William Cullen Bryant

LRW- Use Twine
The challenge this week at Little Red Wagon use twine.
It just so happened at card making class this week we did an Autumn card that used twine.
The stamp set is French Foliage, versamarked then clear embossing powder....... using daubers to add the shading , pear pizazz, cherry cobbler and daffodil yellow for the colours behind the leaves.

Garden Club- Making Fall planter
It seems almost without warning, the cool days and colder nights of early autumn are beginning to take their toll on my once brilliant summer blooming container displays.
Yesterday the Garden Club travelled to Courtland Garden Center to make fall planters.......
Amber the seminar leader gave us tips on using a thriller a filler and a spiller to make attractive planters.....
We came away with creatively inspired containers to brighten front porches before Ol Man Winter arrives with cold, snow and chilly winds..
Some used orange mums and mauve asters others used pink gaura , some black eyed susans.... heucheras .. multi coloured icicle pansies........
Fun afternoon....

The last of the Roses?
It has turned from over 32C on Saturday to 13 C this morning....Brrrr.
Autumn is definitely in the air.....Much as I love Autumn I miss the riot of summer colour. The flower I decided to highlight this week . Charles Austin Rose showing off what might be the last of its blooms.....
These lovely apricot coloured. roses love the cooler weather .The many petals and lovely scent make this a favourite of mine.
It is resistant to black spot.....
It is a tall rose some of the stems 4 feet tall.....
What plant is showing its last blooms in your garden?

Buddleia, Butterflies, Bees and Moths.
I love having buddleia in my garden .
It has so many lovely blooms that last and last at a time when the garden is starting to wane.
This busy week I did find a moment to stop and enjoy it.
While sitting quietly sipping a glass of iced tea....enjoying the sunshine,
I noticed all the activity on and around the buddleia, one very busy spot .
Butterflies- Monarch and Black Morpho
A yellow that I think is a butterfly but it might be a moth...
Fat bee , almost hidden. and a
White moth.
I am not sure what insect this is!
That is why I love having this easy hardy plant in my garden.
