Rabbit Hunt

Country Cottage Chic blog is hosting a Rabbit Hunt.

When I took a close look around my home I came to the
realization of how many bunnies there were , hiding here and there .
They must be breeding as I am sure I haven't bought all of them.

Spring is Here!

It has finally arrived .
Spring,glorious spring!
At least on the calender.

Where are the signs?

Here on my window sill a lovely primrose.

Temperatures are still well below normal , we should be 6 C. in the day and right now -1. Very cold at night. Outside still snow.
Yes it is going, ever so slowly.

A robin has been spotted in the garden.
A red winged blackbird as well.
We still have lots of birds at the bird feeders.

One very hungry woodpecker.
Warm spring weather please hurry up!

Bear Collection

I like bears.
Stuffed ones.Over the years I have collected bears , been given some by family and friends.

I have decorated a guest bedroom with them.
The walls are a mossy green, off white carpet , cream lacy drapes and white bedspread .

Sadly tho I still love bears ,I will not have room in the new house .
How to save my memories of these treasures?

March 2008 Winter Storm

We have just had what the weather forecasters call a " massive" winter storm.
36 hours of snow.
The description for this winter season is
called old fashioned.
This is a picture during the storm Saturday, doesn't look too bad , does it?

This is Sunday , digging out, beautiful sunny blue sky day.

So how much did we get?

This is out the front of the garage.
Depends on the way the snow blew.

This is my poor Colorado blue spruce standard, covered in at least a fresh foot of snow. I have brushed the burden off my favourite evergreen.

Where oh where is spring?
Is there any hope?
Yes , saw a harbinger of spring on Friday, we went on a drive to Long Point Bay and there were 2 huge flocks of tundra swans huddled on the small patch open water .
Bet they wish they were south again.
So do I.

Snow again

Indulged myself recently with new Cd's and on this cold snowy blowy winter day of winter , the winter that seems to never want to end I am playing this new music.

My favourite of them all is KD Lang "Watershed"
Took the recommendation of a music critic ( don't usually) to pick this one up.
Love all the cuts especially "I dream of Spring" and "Close your Eyes".
There is one that is my least liked, too old country for me,Jealous Dog.
Old time fiddle playing on that cut.
Bon Jovi, his new Lost Highway is excellent.Who doesn't like Bon Jovi?
James Blunt , Back to Bedlam, my favourites , You're Beautiful, Tears and Rain and So Long Jimmy on this album.
Celine Dion new album, Taking Chances is great easy listening slightly rock , either you love her or hate her, for me like her vocally ,
think her personal life is weird( just my opine).

Peanut Butter Cookies

With the nasty winter storm on Tuesday night Wednesday morning I couldn't get to work , my road wasn't plowed at 6 AM and with the freezing ice pellets and 15 cm of snow I was going no where.What to do with my unexpected free time? Packing for our move is one option but I really felt like baking . Decided to try this super easy recipe from the Kraft peanut butter jar. It only makes 24 cookies which is good since I am still trying to lose weight and keep off what I have lost.
Really wondered if they would taste good since they only have 3 ingredients.
I can attest to the fact that yes they do!

Kraft Super Easy Peanut Butter Cookies;
Preheat oven to 325.
1 cup peanut butter
1 egg
1/2 cup sugar
Mix these 3 ingredients until well blended.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookies sheet.
Bake 15 minutes. Do not over bake.

I baked mine only 12 minutes and they are tender and moist.
